• It’s always an interesting challenge to try and capture a sense of movement in a still image. More interesting still, is to try to catch the tension in the sinews and musculature of dancers and portray the framing and lines of the human body from the highly stylised classical ballet and ballroom through to vernacular dance. The five images in this gallery are a playful attempt to infuse all that in a posse of dancing animals. Their body forms vary widely, none of them conducive to human dance and their musculature is masked by fur, feathers and scales. Intended to be an amusing challenge, friends who have hung them on their walls have also sensed a level of poignancy and personality in the images.
